From her 5th year anniversary at TTS, covering the pages of Today's Woman Magazine (Best Body Issue) and planning her wedding, Bethany Brown has been a very busy woman this year and there's no stopping her. Bethany was one of the very first employees to ever start at TTS and since then, she has covered almost every position TTS offers. Well deserving of the employee spotlight, here's a fun Q&A with Bethany Brown!
It's you fifth year anniversary here at TTS, how has the company and yourself changed over the years?
I can't believe it has been 5 years since I joined TTS! I am blown away by the growth of our organization and love looking back on where we started. When I joined the team, there were less than 10 of us and now we are a team of almost 40 strong!
I began my time with TTS as a National Account Manager and was then promoted to Director of Hotel Relations. I have recently taken on a new role as Executive Administrator, where I work closely with our ownership and management teams on facilitating day to day office operations. I think one of the things that makes Team Travel Source so special from other organizations, which I have experienced firsthand, is that we really foster a culture where we encourage our employees to always continue to learn and grow. The opportunities are really endless here and I can't wait to see where the next 5 years takes us!
What keeps you motivated?
I'm fueled by COFFEE!
If you could visit any place in the world, where would it be?
I have always had an interest in history and anthropology. I would really like to visit Egypt one day to see the pyramids!
What got you into fitness and your best workout advice?
I danced for thirteen years and "retired" when I went to college. I wanted to continue to stay active so on my Summer Breaks I would work out with a personal trainer. My trainer impacted my life in such a positive way that he inspired me to also help others pursue a healthier lifestyle. I decided to follow through on this goal and have been a certified personal trainer since 2016!
My best piece of workout advice would be to make fitness a priority and to also hold yourself accountable. I have found that setting a date with yourself in your calendar is a great way to stay on track. We set up appointments for everything in our life, so start making them for your workouts too. Treat these appointments like it is an important meeting with a client that you can't miss. You'll be surprised at how quickly these start to add up and the results will follow!
What is your favorite childhood movie?
I used to watch "Star Wars" every afternoon in third grade while I did my homework, so it is definitely up there as one of my favorites! I even went as Princess Leia for Halloween!
We know you're a lover of treadmills and tacos! But have you eaten a taco while on a treadmill?
I can't say I have. I'm not sure I'm coordinated enough. Although I love a good challenge so I may have to try this next time I am at the gym (very carefully, of course).
If humans can't see air, can fish see water?
Hm. I'm going to go with no on this one.
We know you are a mother of a Weimaraner! What's his name and how'd you find him?
I am a proud dog mom to the most handsome fur baby named Odin. I have always loved the Weimaraner breed, as they are super loyal and full of energy. Plus, I needed another running buddy, so it was a match made in heaven! Odin joined our household last January and we can't imagine our lives without him! He will be celebrating his 1st Birthday on November 23rd! Check out Odin on Instagram @walkswithweims.
